The Russian propaganda operation targeted at media organisations and fact-checkers is going stronger than ever. Operation Overload, which was first documented in June 2024, is conquering new platforms and harnessing AI tools to target fact-checkers, media and international audiences with Kremlin propaganda.

Aleksandra Atanasova, OSINT Investigations Lead, Reset Tech

Aleksandra is Reset Tech’s lead open-source intelligence (OSINT) researcher and has managed major investigations on foreign influence operations. Her research interests are focused on state-sponsored campaigns, online fraud operations and the shifting tactics of online threat actors. Prior to joining Reset Tech, Aleksandra worked as a digital marketing consultant to national governments, EU institutions, and private sector clients.

Guillaume Kuster, CEO, Check First

Guillaume Kuster is the CEO and co-founder of Check First, specialising in the study of the spread of FIMI, harmful and problematic content through platforms. With a background in journalism, he’s spent the last 5 years developing a leading actor in the field of big tech accountability, using the Digital Services Act as a compass. Check First develops software and methodologies to help policymakers, civil society organisations, journalists and citizens to understand and assess the dynamics of online information flows, detect manipulation campaigns, and hold digital platforms accountable.

Ana Romero-Vicente, Researcher, EU DisinfoLab

Ana Romero-Vicente works as a researcher at EU DisinfoLab, where she analyses and counters disinformation from different angles. She is apprised of the Spanish disinformation landscape and has published several international investigations on the monetisation of disinformation. She currently addresses mis/disinformation about climate change and monitors audio-visual social networks such as YouTube and TikTok. With a master’s degree in Journalism, Ana’s professional profile has always been very versatile. She has worked as a financial journalist, has been involved in EU Election Observation Missions and worked as a communication expert for EU-funded projects during her stay of 14 years in Brussels.
