EU DisinfoLab 2024 Annual Conference

9-10 October, Riga, Latvia

Manage your registration

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.

In #Disinfo2023, we were pleased to receive more than 800 requests to attend. Unfortunately, managing these requests has a cost, and this year we will have to restrict the attendance to professionals only. That said, no invitation is needed – everyone is welcome to request attendance at #Disinfo2024. If your request is approved, you will be notified via email with details on how to process your participation fee and arrange your accommodation.

While there is no strict registration deadline, we encourage you to register as soon as possible. Due to high demand and limited seating, tickets may run out.

For the first time, we are introducing a nominal registration fee for the conference, to maintain the quality and independence of the event. In an era where many services claim to be “free” often turning users into the “product”, we strive to align with our ideals of independence and authentic freedom of speech. This approach ensures that our conference reflects our values.

Organising the conference incurs an average expense of about 500 EUR per attendee, covering venue, catering, staff, onsite support, and preparatory work. In our previous free conferences, no-shows have resulted in large unnecessary expenses. We hope this moderate registration fee will limit avoidable losses. Furthermore, we are delighted to announce that this year’s conference will feature even more content, including a third conference track and a movie screening. And, in our opinion, some absolutely fantastic speakers!

The Early Bird registration fee is 100 EUR (excluding VAT) for civil society members, academics, and journalists, and 150 EUR (excluding VAT) for government and corporate attendees. This fee will increase to respectively 120 EUR and 180 EUR after the initial Early Bird period (31 May 2024).

We sincerely hope for your understanding and support in this decision.

We keep track of no-shows. If in prior EU DisinfoLab conference editions you were granted access but didn’t attend without notifying us, your #Disinfo2024 registration might be put on hold.

Your individual badge will be sent by email two weeks before the conference, allowing you to print it in colour prior to the conference.

The EU DisinfoLab’s official photographer will capture moments during the event. If you prefer not to be photographed, you will be able to request a red lanyard for your badge at the registration desk on-site.

If you are unable to attend the conference, please cancel your participation (see Terms and Conditions), and we will then notify participants on the waiting list. We keep track of no-shows – if you were granted access but didn’t attend, and did not notify us, your future registrations might be put on hold.

Feel the community spirit

#Disinfo2024 is an in-person conference. We are excited to enjoy the networking time real-life events offer!

In addition to the sessions in different formats, #Disinfo2024 will offer great opportunities to network with your peers.

Get ready to dive into the conference spirit! The evening before the first conference day, meet us at the Skyline bar on the 26th floor of our venue (Radisson Blu Conference & Spa Hotel) for a casual pre-conference gathering to connect with fellow attendees and make new connections.

At the end of Day 1, join us for a one-hour night-time tour of Riga where the true facts of history meet disinformation mingling. Led by expert guides, the tour will venture through the city’s key historical landmarks and hidden gems, and create lasting memories in an intellectually stimulating evening. Please note, the event is subject to weather conditions, so bring rain gear as a precaution. We recommend having dinner before the tour. The guided tour is offered by EU DisinfoLab.

For those involved in EU-funded projects, a special networking lunch will be organised on Day 2 of the conference. This will be an ideal occasion to meet peers involved in innovative projects around AI, FIMI, and other current topics in the disinformation sphere, and to start developing new collaborations. Find the details for in the programme!

Throughout the conference, take advantage of the lunches (brought to you by Resolver) and coffee breaks (brought to you by EPIEOS) to engage in informal discussions with other attendees. These moments offer the perfect setting to exchange ideas and reflect on the sessions.

Please note that this is a physical event. No live streaming option will be provided, and the sessions will not be recorded. Presentation slides will be made available shortly after the conference.

Our official photographer will capture moments during the event, and we’ll share some of them on our website and social media. If you prefer not to be photographed, please pick a red lanyard for your badge at the registration desk on-site.

We kindly ask all participants to respect the choices of fellow attendees who prefer not to be photographed. Please ensure that any photos you share on social media or online do not show people wearing red lanyards.
